I have a really bad hiss coming from my ppi amp that operates the fronts. It has never done it before. I took a new set of RCAs and just ran it just over the seats from the deck to the amp and it is still doing it. I have grounded the deck direct to the battery. I have check all the connections. now I have the fronts hook up strait off the deck power and I am not getting any hiss....miss not having my amp to quite!!

I have even swapped amps... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif my ppi amp is not he problem:)

is it possible that noise suppressor on the battery lead of my deck plug has gone out? at least I think that is what that is....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

o yah it even hiss when that truck is not running but the deck is on IE.. accl position on the ignition or the run position. but when the tuck is running i am getting the motor sound

thanks

Do you have a pioneer HU? They are known to have noisy pre amp outputs (the RCAs). bad ground plane or something, I think its caused by unplugging the RCAs when the headunit is on.

Reground the actual amp to the battery.
Otherwise.. you don't happen to have a Pioneer HU do you?
yesss it is a pioneer dvd 6600 in dash screen. is that bad?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

what can happen if the RCAs are unplugred when the head unit is on? That may have happend when i pulled the deck out of the dash

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif You pulled the deck out while it was turned on? Are you retarded? Seriously, answer that.

Wrap a small piece of wire around the outer barrel of the rca where it connects to the head unit. Attach the wire to the chassis of the head unit with one of the small screws on the case. This has worked for some guys with Pioneer heads.

Yes. Typical problem with pioneers. Internal ground has failed.

do that to both channels... L and R ???

now wouldent that afect both my amps insead of just the one?

thanks i will try that.

I'm assuming you are running a sub amp...The reason you cant hear the noise is because the frequency of the noise (typically greater than 500 hz), is usually filtered out with a lowpass filter. or the subs just cant play the higher frequencies.

Ok i see why i would not be able to hear it on the subs.

If i were to take the rcas from my sub amp and connect them to the amp for the fronts whould i be able to hear the noise or does the decks sub outs cut the frequency back to much befor going to the amp
