Something very wrong with my components

Just installed sundown sa6.5v2 components and there is zero midbass. Thes replaced a set of Alpine type r component in fully sealed and deadened doors. The type r,s would produce enough midbass to shake the mirrors and door panels. These sound like a lot is missing. Running off an Alpine pdx150x2. Any ideas what would cause this, I expected these to sound a lot better than they do

Tried that and they were no better. What a total disapointment. Figured these would kill the type r's. Totally unacceptable

Hard to say without being there. Check all your setting and make sure nothing got switched. I never used sundown comps so I can't say if they have mid bass or not
I checked everything and touched nothing just a direct swap

wire one side out of phase.

wire one side out of phase.
Are you saying just wire one side out of phase to correct it. I tried doing one at a time and then both. These things are just weak, there has to be something wrong. They barely move and they are seeing 150 rms per side. My alpines would be beating down

sounds like some bad lemons. You sure there's no high pass filter on the amp or head unit that you accidentally messed with? Try using the mids without the crossovers.

No I did a direct swap and didn't touch the amp. After I played them i dropped the crossover to 60 and still sounds pretty bad. I use the head unit crossover so no reason to touch the amp

try no crossover and no passive crossover and moderate volume to test. Basically amp to speaker no crossovers at all. If no midbass pops out then yeah the comps **** ballz since only changing variable was a speaker swap

Just tried this and the speakers at least moved some. Put everything back through the crossovers and it *****. The absolute worst sounding garbage I've ever heard. I have tried everything and they sound horrible not just bad ! Tomorrow I am putting the alpines back in and Ill see because they sounded pretty **** good and compared to these they were awesome

type Rs are pretty midbassy. Id say stick to sound quality brands when it comes to components. Leave the SPL brands to subs and amps. They usually arent that good at components. Their pro audio is good but you'll need to know how to do an active setup.

So no sundown recommendation here?
No way. These are going back. Nothing has changed except the speaker and they sound like garbage. Not my first install I know what's up and these are either bad or not real. Got them from woofers etc and they say authorized sundown dealer

They're less money than the type R's, what did you expect? The crossovers look nice, but likely they're just more of the same off-the-shelf stuff you'd get for half the money with a different brand name stamped on them. Type R is actually really good sounding all across their lineup though, I've been impressed with every type R setup I've heard.
