i just recently purchased a used old school rockford punch 800@2 here is a link to the exact amp specs http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/2001/3_Amplifiers/MAN3216A_Punch2Ch_MAN.pdf .
i wired it up today using 4 awg and the amp does not turn on. i know my wiring is correct because i have been doing my own installs for 8 years now and i just earlier today took out another fully functional amp out of this same car.
the only thing i may have missed is that this particular amp the 800 series takes 2 positives and 2 negatives both are fitted to accept 8 awg wire the insides are for a so called punch power cap and the outsides are for the basic positive negative terminals.
i only used the two outside terminals 1 positive and 1 negative, and did not use the 2 inside terminals provided for the punch power cap, could this be why i am getting no power? or is this a non working amp? also does anyone thing i should run 2 regular powers and 2 regular grounds instead of the punch cap?
