Somebody else has my SSN

So my mom went yesterday and turned in my housing application for college next fall (not this coming fall but next year '07). I've heard of it happening before for reasons involving trials and what not. Like if you are a witness to murder or something and the gov't has to keep moving you to protect you. I've heard it happening that way but I just hope they screwed up on HIS part. Ok you can change it, but the old SSN is never deleted.. and can be cross referenced still.

So there really isn't a point..

When i wnet to get my job at radio shack, it took me 3weeks to get a background check b/c first they said i didnt exist, and then when they found me, it was showing up "bibby r jacob" instead of "jacob r bibby." So i had to go to the SSA and get a new card, and have everything redone, same number, just alot of bs that took an extra 2weeks to get the job.
