I would have just used kitty hair of dura glass to fill up to it... or even some duramix...

Just to possibly save you time next time. Looks like it turned out well...

Kitty hair is fiberglass reinforced body filler. Google it.

You could have sunk the PVC in more, molded it in place with kitty hair, sanded, filled, sanded, painted. Instead of glassing.

Easier, maybe lighter. I noticed the drill bits and regulators in the background, along with a ball valve. Are you welder/machinist?

It's a body filler with fiberglass strands in it.
