I wanted to say hi to everyone this is my first post.
Anyways I have been into car audio since 93 and I used to install for about 3 years. And I got back in a few years ago and haven't stopped since.
Here is my equipment sitting in the house killing me it's not hooked up. But I learned along time ago nothing good comes rushed.
zx2500.1
(3) cvx 12" subs dual two ohm coils giving me 3ohms at the amp (625 rms per sub)
zx850.4
6.5ss components and 6.5ss mid bass
zx650.4
2 pair of cx componets 6.5"
I am putting it all in a 98 grand cherokee 5.9l limited. It already has 150 amp alternator. I need help with the power side. First upgrading the factory wiring on the alternator and the factory ground what is the best?/ I was thinking 4 gauge from alt to hood battery and dual 4 ga grounds?? I have 0 gauge to run from primary battery to the rear.
Now batteries - i just put in a new battery under the hood just a regular gold series from advance autoparts. I am hearing alot about kinetic batteries and stinger. But I have a budget that would buy me a pair of optima yellow tops. I would like to keep it around $400 but I could put out a little more if needed. So I need some reccomendations there.
Then I need a lesson in isolators. I want something that won't drop voltage and will allow me to play the system off of the battery(s) I would also like to be able to keep the battery I have in the jeep right now and and put two batteries in the rear and have no conflict?? is that possible. i hear conflicting stories on it. some say I should run jsut two identical batteries and a simple isolator. Help me out guys I am ready to get srated on this. If yellow tops will get me there I will have them this weekend. I will post pics as this goes, I work at a steel laser cutting company so I am going to do some cool metal inlays on the amp racks and some trick stuff.
Thanks in advance
