Well first off i am buddys w/ Astyl if you have come across him.A few years back i hada 97 lumina w/ 2 12inch kenoods and a mono sony amp.I killed the battery in the car and it was a brand new sears gold.So had another one installed under their warrany and once again it was slowly dying.I was also getting alot of light dimming.Then I went to an audio shop who built my box and told them my situation.They said have a capacitor installed.So i did and it took car of my battery problem and there as very very slight dimming still.

Now we speak of today.I have a 99gtp w/ a P1 and 2 channel rockford amp that is bridged.Also have a brand new red top.So if your playing a good bass song and you focus you can see the lights dim.I do not know what to do.I plan on seling this setup and possibly get a 12inch typer or something comperable and have an amp to go with it.What do you all think i should do?I hear caps are junk but would it even be worth it?I dont want to add a battery to the trunk.Maybe the BIG3?????You guys are the experts.

Check to make sure all of your grounds are secure. If they are, go to Autozone and have them do the free alternator check to make sure your alt isn't going bad.

What gauge of power and ground wire are you currently running?

4 gauge wire.I just checked all the grounds and they are clean and tight.130k on a stock alt. thow.I have an aearofoce scan gauge hooked up and was reading the voltage and its around 14volts.I also have a alt. voltage booster and an alternator rewire.If that helps any.The connection for the amp is on top of the battery not the jump post.

Big three, add batteries, new alternator, add an isolator and see if seperating that way works.

Dimming is a crap shoot. I have a 250 amp alt and still get dimming on 1650watts.

I think i am going to get the FI Q.Along w/ either the mtx thunder ta7901 or the hifonics bxi1206d.Should i upgrade my wire then?Is it really needed.I am running 4 gauge.I may even be using my buddys battery that he has in his trunk when he gets his new one.

suxxx for you.......i had a jl 1000/1 on stock electrical in my caddy with a run of 2 gauge with no dimming, and volts always stayed above 12.7

yikes!

1400 watts, 2 amps, stock electrical. no dimming.
