Some Budget SQ System Advice

I am looking at a few different classic cars to possibly buy one, If i get something like that i dont want to put a huge SPL system in it so i want to do a single sub budget SQ set-up. What Im thinkin is....

now before i go into equipment i want to say, im making my list new now but when im ready to buy i might go used on something but i am not getting speaks or a sub used. Ill get amps and a HU used but nothing else.

A good cheaper CDT or Diamond or even Rainbox comp set running passive.

or 5 1/4, i dont know what size they are but id like to have 2 ohm comps to run with the amp. does anyone know of any good cheap 2 ohm comp sets.

The one car im looking at has 6x9's in the back and i would like to put some back in so i was thinking about these.

Thinking about a budget HU, Maybe Eclipse or Alpine mounted under my dash.

I might leave the 6x9's out but then the only thing id have is the comps up front so id really want a more vocal set and then i was thinkin about this for power and bass.

My sub. Im thinking of running sealed but i might do ported if someone can help me do the right SQ type daily box for it but i really like this sub.

if you are truely looking for a SQ system...dump the rear fill.

You should come to the NC show if you get a chance to demo some SQ cars..

I cant come to NC randomly lol. Im tryin to stay cheap too so im sure 99% of teh stuff i would demo would be a no go but ill forget the 6x9's.

im assuming your not going for a true sq just something just something that is pleasing to the ears?

I like some of the stuff you picked however i would change a few things.

1. The headunit you picked is nice however on ebay you can get the eclipse cd3100 for 130 shipped bnib. just got one for my brother and it is pretty nice.

2.For your front stage i would look into getting some ID ctx comps. for the price they are solid and sound incredible. they are not too much higher than that budget set you picked out

3. Avoid getting rear fill however if you do decide to run them dont worry about spending much on it. They will not be a main focus of any sort. also power them with head unit.

4. I like the amp you picked however another decent 5 channel for your price range would be the kicker zx700.5(either is a good choice) i suggest bridging the 4 channels for just your front stage though. Front stage is the most important part of any install

5. I cant say whether the sub you have picked is good or not due to never hearing one however, i would step up and get something a little more expensive. Maybe the DIYMA 12". it sells for 100 shipped and only calls for 300ish watts in a 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure.

6. also dont forget sound deadener. it can make or break any system

raammat will work just fine(regardless of what people say)

I don't know anything about the sub you posted, but I've had a Diamond D312 for several years. IMO it's an ideal sub for a budget SQ setup. Performs well in under 1cf sealed without too much power. I had mine runnin something like .8 sealed with 400w and it was very clean with respectable output.

Correction..

It's possible to make a pair of $20 speakers sound decent, but not nearly great.

And it's definitely possible to make a $400 set sound like shit.

But speakers are important too.

spend $300(maybe cheaper if can find on ebay or something) on an eclipse cd5030 which is currently being released. has Time alignment with the 5v preouts

Ok that car is out. If i go to the 4runner like i want then im going all SPL and this was meaningless. If i still go the classic route then i want some help still.
