Some big system questions. Pros and Cons

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site to find the SPL ratings of some of these subs, I read somewhere that the solo x I was looking at was capable of 185 DB SPL (which is nuts) I just want to see how these other suggestions stack up. because I've not had the chance to experience all of these SPL is something an audiophile is something I can relate to.

and there are other options for the sub

but if you plan on running one and only of these subs EVER

get the dual 2 wire in parallel to 1 ohm on a mono channel amp end of story.

how much to you plan to pay for this 1 sub? i will suggest others
no.

I would have to say you should go with a Fi BTL fully loaded.

There are a lot of SPL subs out there that are better and cheaper than the solo x.

DC lvl 5 18 be SLAMMIN in a mustang if you can fit it...
Would also be a good choice.

or just buy that RD SHW 15" that kmanian is selling for $850;)

here is the thread

food for thought, really might want to read that thread
Ok, I see what your gettin at. I'm just one of those people that says " if im going to go through the trouble, get it all the first time" and I was going for one sub due to space issues.

so let's say I wanted to get two 15's at 2 ohms each could I then take a mono amp at 1 ohm and wire parallel? and then if I do that and lets just say each sub is 1500 Watts then you add those which = 3000 watts peak right?? and then I'm still left with the question... will this still hit F*in hard. I want it physically excruciating to sit in the vehicle when I'm really flexin' the system. of course i'm not going to blast it all day everday. (I do like my hearing)

no for 2 subs dvc you want 2 dual 4 ohms subs wired parallel/parallel

or 2 dual 1 ohm subs series/parallel

3k-4k is very loud IMO

my suggestion 2 12inch BTLs off of rms power

So is there really any advantage of a set of 15s over a set of 12s?? I've heard alot of arguing over this by my own friends, but of course they're all dumbasses

And how exactly do you wire parallel/parallel off of a mono amp? or did I misread?

Disregard that little comment I was seriously overthinking it......

so if I had two 1500 rms 12 inchers and wired them parallel/parallel like he said how big of an amp would I need to use all of both of those speakers. would I need an amp that's going to do 1500 rms or one that's going to need to do 3000 rms because there's two speakers. this is one thing that I never figured out.

I am a true audiophile I like great sound. but I still want the ability to be heard 2 miles away!!! so I guess I would like to say both. and yes I realize your not going to be able to have both simultaneously. So all in all I would like to have the ability to listen to good quality but have the ability to crank it!
A true audiophile could give a shit about being heard 2 miles away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

A true audiophile will know the difference between good sound and just loud, and have the ability to separate and balance the two realms if he so chooses

I did some search and I'm sure this is somewhere in this forum (and I don't want to start another thread.) , but my car desperately needs a new battery and I was wondering what type of batteries are best for cars with a larger sound system?
