Solo X 18

yes because your manual is better than the one from kicker...
and neither of you have hit over 143..so to my math your 2db's behind on 1k..so

U MAD
wow again.

kicker produced 20 different manuals for this sub. i was gonna send him the one that would be most useful when designing a box for this sub.

secondly, i did a 143 on 1K rms in a full size truck, you supposedly did a 145 on 2K rms in a crx.

and at the end of the day it doesnt matter, you know why?

Wow seriously kids calm down keep the thread on track. Anyways ive seen a solo X 18 weighed and it was around 100 lbs..not 150. Back on track, if you can only get 8.75 cubes before any displacements you wont be any where near 8 cubes net after displacements..the sub has a huge magnet and the port alone would probably take up a cube or more. Then theres bracing displacement..Id think youd want to have atleast a 10 cube box GROSS(after all displacements).

Also, i like the design above, neat way to brace.

To solve your problems and keep alot of headache out of the way, pay a reputable box designer on these forums for a box design..They usually run around 30-35$ depending on how complex you want it to be. Then all you have to do is build it.

sounds good to me, and thanks for the comment about the bracing

i actually went a completely different way with my bracing in my solo x box;

That bracing adds little to no front panel to back panel lateral bracing. and the that particular enclosure should yield better results from the sub being on the other side on top, above the port. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

^, or maybe triple baffle it, or possible some althreads from top to bottom would be quick and easy. But as you can see (OP) when your dealing with a 100lb sub lack of bracing can really kill you.

i have a design that is 51" X 21.75" X 21" if you are interested.
iirc its tuned to 33Hz or 31Hz and 8ft^3. i did a 143 on music with 1K rms and no deadening with it
That is terrible. You can design your own box on many sites that will be just as quiet for free.

And since you are bragging,

Here are my credentials.

that box had a lot of things that i had to change

  • the sub moved sides
  • added several feet of threaded rod
  • double baffled all the way around instead of just the top

but i dont have any sketchup pics of after //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Just going by what i saw in the pic. Gotta love AllThread. Easy way to brace anything.
