SOLO X 10 box building work log.

well, i got a little present, it's an 10L5, it's the same size (mounting ring) as the solox 10, so here we go, starting the box build.

it'll be 1.5 inches thick, and have 45 degree corners inside, i'm planning to post lots of pics, and all that good stuff, the build is tommarow after 10am.

it's going into an eclipse, it'll be 4.91^3 after port and woofer displacement, tuned to 40hz, as per kicker specs for the "suv" box, expecting it to be two things A: loud, and b: heavy.

it's not scrap.. i have a fricken eclipse, i have them rip my wood at lowes, then i just make the crosscuts here and assemble.

4x8 sheets dont fit in eclipses : )

4.91 after all displacement is what kicker recommends in thier manual for the

soloX10. they dont recommend 1.5 inches thick wood, but thats just me : )

the "spl" enclosure that i'll build later is 6 cubes, tuned to 68hz, this is a serious subwoofer : )

planning to power it with a kx2500.1, i have an SVR for the rear, searching for another one now, and i'm running two runs of 0 gauge from my alternator/front end battery, to charge the rear batteries, should be fun : )

getting a dual 1 ohm woofer for 2 ohm daily load, .50 ohm for comp : )

They don't recommend wood larger than 1" because you can't use the bolts on that thick of wood. Looks like you'll be using screws on this one.

negitive, i'll use bolts, homedepot sells like up to 6 inch #7 bolts (#7 bolts hold most engines together)

so screw thier bolts, so to say : )

okay, it's boogie time, hoping to finish the 3/4 inch thick box before noon, then the whole thing by 5 tonight caulked, locked and ready to rock.
