SOLDERING 0 gauge????

Hello,

There's nothing wrong with that Coupler;) .If you ever have to go this Route,I'd do this: Take the Set Screws out,and appy a Small dab Of "Blue Loctite" on the Threads of the set screws*(Strip your cable First and have it ready to insert the cable in "One side of the Coupler Only)! The Loctite can Dry quickly/and it's not Cheap.Tighten the set screw down Tightly.Do the Same for the Other side:) .

A Cheaper alternative that I've used before, was to have a can of Spray Paint handy and you can mist the threads of the screws too...Works fine:) .

Do Not leave any of the Copper Stranding Exposed exposed on the Coupler.

"Take Your Time/ Have Patience". Make sure the cable insulation is "All the Way In the Coupler".

So many times I've seen Installs w/copper stranding exposed from a Mechanical Crimp..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif .No reason for it if people would use some patience.Once someone gets into doing Proper Termination...It becomes much easier and one gets Proficient...And the end results that you did are Rewarding:D ...WoooHooo!!!!.

Last...But Not Least..is to put Shrink Wrap over the Coupler leaving an 1" on either side.I like to use Adhesive/Dual Wall Shrink Tubing on my cables.Once heated, the glue melts inside the tubing and holds firmly to the coupler and cable and are waterproof.

It can take more abuse and is more durable than regular shrink tube.

Sorry for the in depth....Just trying to Help. All the Best with your System.

Kind Regards,

id use red locktite, and oyu can have it sitting on the ste screw for a good 2 to 5 min before it even gets close to curing, lock tite takes 24 hours to fully cure or overnight one of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

also red wont even come loose unless you heat it up with a soldering gun to break down the loctite, even then its hard to.

Thank You for your Input :)Very Good to Know.I was always under the impression that when you applied the Loctite, you'd have to screw the fastener into whatever quickly.

At least Now...I know I have a little time to get situated, and not fumble and drop the fastener trying to Install it...LOL.Thanks Again.

*Kind Regards*

lol yea ive used loctite everyday for the past like 5 or 6 years i go through that stuff like water, it takes a whiel to fully setup. i workj wiht smaller screws so i put some dros on a peice of wax paper and dip the tip of eahc screw in. by the time im done wiht the little puddle its been 5 or 10 min and its still wet. once the screws are in the loctite will cure within 30 to an hour. but nto fully cure untill overnight.

I would go with the Stinger deal. If not, I was in a pinch and needed a 1/0 to 4 guage reducer. I took a 4 guage ring terminal, a 1/0 ring terminal and a nut/bolt. I bolted the two together and shrink wrapped it like 3 times. In a pinch easier than trying to solder 1/0 wire.
