Solder on Wires

Problem with trying to tin the ends of the wire is that it will 1) make it too big to go in the amp terminal and 2) the set screw will have nothing to clamp to. The give in the wire allows the wire to conform to the inside of the terminal and make maximum contact with the terminal for a low resistance connection.
