im definately going active here in a month or so and need a new hu. im looking at the pioneer 7800 only because i can get it cheap from work, but it doesn't have the t/a. i see a lot of people using the 880prs and 9835, but what are some other good active head units you all would recommend?

Pioneer Premier P9 combo. A true 4 way active network with time alignment, adjustable crossover points and slopes, and independent left and right 31 band equalizers.

Can't freakin wait to have this running.

do you think i'd really miss out on not having the time alignment?
Depends on your setup. If your comp set is installed in the doors......then yes, you would really miss out by not having TA. If you have kickpanels or another pathlength-optimizing install location for the speakers, then not necessarily.

What's your budget ?

CD7000

3-Way Active

11 band parametric EQ (5 high, 5 mid, 1 low)

But personally I would wait a few months and see what the new models look like. The Eclipse is a little rough around the edges...my old 9835 definitely performed better in several areas. Then again, Alpine has gone south...is Eclipse going the same direction?
