hey guys, my mechanic wont be able to look at it till tomorrow, so im just trying to figure out how much of a repair im looking at..
i drive a 98 subaru legacy, manual... lately the clutch has been a little slippy (i have a feeling its the clutch/pressure plates)...
anyway today i was driving behind and went to pass someone.. so ill be the first to admit it might of been kind of a hard shift/high rev, but it really wasnt anything *that* out of the ordinary (my car only goes so fast lol)
i didnt notice anything happen.. no noises or anything and i made it to the next light. i stopped ect.. light changed green and went to go, but nothing. my car woudln't move at all in any gear, including reverse . i did smell a slight burning (but nothing major).. and its basically like my car is stuck in neutral. i can even change gears without pressing the clutch and the pedal feels the same
i know its hard for people to diagnose stuff without actually seeing it.. but i was just curious if anyone had their opinion to share since this is my first stick and havent had to replace a clutch yet.. hoping maybe it could be something else *thats cheaper* cause it was so instant.
