I got a "high output" alternator from knukonceptz and i install it. Ive been trying to get my amp to turn on for the past 3 days but i cant because im not getting enough power. So i checked all the wires that said 12V constant and there only getting about 10.4V.

I decided to see what my alternator was putting out and it reads 10.5V. That is at 1500rpm's also. What the hell is wrong with this?

send it back, sounds like its a bad alt, just curious is the pulley on the knu alts smaller than your stock pulley?

im not sure i think it might be the same though. Now i got another problem. I cant get the bolt off the last leg on the alternator. I cant even budge it

id send it back for sure should have a smaller pulley than the stock alt because it give you more rpms which means more amps at idle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

not always true my sunfire has the smallest avalible stock

I will re-check the voltage on the battery. I hope its not the battery because its about 1 month old and its an optima. If thats the problem i will try charging it. I will also swap out the old one and see if it makes a difference

Well it was definetly low voltage. It was only about 9.5V. Tommorow i will go to advanced auto parts and try to get it exchanged. It has a one year warrenty so i should be able to get a new one. Will it void the warrenty if they see i have my power wire/big 3 and stuff like that hooked up to it?

This could possibly be the problem why i dont have enough current going through my remote to turn on my amp right? Everything has low voltage
