So i've narrowed it down to 2 amps..

I narrowed ir down to 2 amos, which should I get? I have the money to get either of these, which would be a better buy? and why?

For those who don't know anything about the Xenon Onyx 1200.1 here's what Pheonix Gold said about the amp when I emailed them:

The Xenon X1200.1 usually show ~1300 watts RMS on their birthsheets. The Xenon Onyx 1200.1 was a very limited release and is black instead of brushed aluminum, they also went through excessive testing before being chosen for the LE status and they then received a few minor board alterations and typically show ~10-15% increase in output over an average Xenon. Also the Onyx was not technically released within the US.

sorry totally missed that... i have a few jbl amps that i LOVE but the pg amp looks sweet. if you were you i would try to look at the gto 1201.1 instead of the bp that you have a pic of

I would avoid PG,overpriced IMO and not really spectacular in the last few years since the death of the Tantrum lineup.........

IMO an eD 9.1 would be the way to go for anyone looking for a decent

1200w amp esp on the web with the 3 year warrentys they offer.

My 9.1 is being worked to death,however Xenon died in less than 2 weeks when I owned one last year.......

Um No!!!

The pg 1200.1 onyx will own the jbl bp all day long. Put out much more power, and do it much more efficiently. This is coming from someone who has a bp 1200.1. The onyx will put out more than a tantrum will, and its black coated look is nice aswell. The bp is a good amp by all means, but is nowhere near as good as the onyx. These 2 amps should have never been put in the same sentence together. If you were talking about the jbl crown amps, then I could see room for arguement.

For $300 difference, JBL all day long. I owned one, great reliable amp that never even hiccuped. I've seen them rated at 1300plus watts rms.

Put the money you would save towards upgrading something else.

Not to mention, the JBL is tiny for the output it provides and never heats up even in 1 ohm load.

deff. yes i have a JBL 1200.1 right now, very good and never heats up
