so im watching Sicko

I see you're from Michigan. Is that where your friend is from.?? Because I am too. Michigan unemployment only pays 26 weeks of benefits per year. So I'm not sure what your friend is drawing but after 26 weeks it isn't unemployment anymore. I draw unemployment every year. It's just the nature of the construction business. It's slow in the winter and you have to have some sort of income.
I'm sure you could get some other job when construction slwos down, you are just lazy and dont want to.

I'm betting if you couldn't get that government handout you wouldn't starve.

youd think that if you have to do this every year you would have found work for the winter months by now...

Why should I?? I still make over 40k per year with time off too. I don't starve because I put my money aside while I'm working and don't blow it. Not too much anyway. I also wouldn't call myself lazy. Anyone I work with would tell you different. Drawing a couple months of unemployment per year isn't too bad as far as I'm concerned.

your taking tax money that we could be using to better fund our schools and health care.

sure you could say so what? one person isnt going to make a difference, but think about how many people think like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

"One of the bitter ironies of the 20th century was that communism, which began as an egalitarian doctrine accusing capitalism of selfishness and calloused sacrifices of others, became in power a system whose selfishness and callousness toward others made the sins of capitalism pale."

My point exactly. With such liberal social policies you have zero incentive to provide for yourself. I feel that this is counterproductive to society.

Excuse me.?? I make 40K per year and pay my fair share of taxes on that unemployment every year too. It's not free money, it's taxable and you have to earn so much per year to qualify for it.

You wanna talk about tax money that could be going toward good things. Ok then what about the "rich class" that doesn't pay anywhere near the percentage of taxes on their income that I do?? I think you can find bigger fish to fry than me. If I could work the whole year I would. Construction just doesn't work that way most of the time.

In short, I earn my fucking keep and pay my taxes.

Our system, based on a free market and classical liberalism (not to be confused with modern liberalism, look it up if you need to), has supported the highest number of people living at the highest standard of living in the history of the known world.

In the last 100 years we've made a dramatic turn to the political left and have probably sowed the seed for our own destruction.

It's enough to make the Founding Fathers spin in their graves.

If you work hard and do good in school then you shouldent be faced with these situations. So if you have to collect unemployment or use foodstamps your a fuktard got it. Ok and say you got layed off unexpectedly, if you did good enough in school it wouldent be hard to find another job. The majority of people on welfare and things like that could easily get a job at MCD's or BK but there lazy screwups who dont better society.

Moral of the story: Almost anyone can get a job so if they choose not to then who gives a **** what happens to them.

Again, I pay my taxes and provide for myself.

Why won't you answer my earlier question??

What do yo do for a living??

Or are you afraid to answer that.??
