Fact is I would rather work 11 months a year. But I'm not going to take a low paying job just so I don't collect unemployment. Not to mention, its NOT tax free money.

I took unemployment once. I used it for 2 months.

I applied for financial aid.

I pay taxes.

I would use food stamps.

Im just not starting college again and dont really plan on finishing. I have no college education.

I want to be rich.

My future is bright.

im am not published in a journal or some shit.

I am about to start paying for health care.

Other countries are the shit.

I am lazy.

I would love to have some free birth control pills for men, if they existed.

Excuse me.?? I make 40K per year and pay my fair share of taxes on that unemployment every year too. It's not free money, it's taxable and you have to earn so much per year to qualify for it.
You wanna talk about tax money that could be going toward good things. Ok then what about the "rich class" that doesn't pay anywhere near the percentage of taxes on their income that I do?? I think you can find bigger fish to fry than me. If I could work the whole year I would. Construction just doesn't work that way most of the time.

In short, I earn my fucking keep and pay my taxes.

Adam. Please explain to me the "rich class." Last I checked, income taxes are raised as people make more money, not lowered. The top 1% of taxpayers pay the same as the bottom 95% of taxpayers.

It's funny how instead of refuting people's arguments, it's more convincing to simply insult them.

And what of all the people that have gotton job's because of outsourcing, because the companies grew over time and were able to hire more people, thanks to oursourcing. What about all the people that lose their jobs because their companies don't outsource, can't lower prices, and go bankrupt? Oh yeah. You forgot them.

Why should I?? I still make over 40k per year with time off too. I don't starve because I put my money aside while I'm working and don't blow it. Not too much anyway. I also wouldn't call myself lazy. Anyone I work with would tell you different. Drawing a couple months of unemployment per year isn't too bad as far as I'm concerned.

I doubt you pay the same amount in taxes as the benefits you receieve. I seriously doubt it. The taxes you pay go to things other than unemployment. Do you know who pays the for the unemployment taxes? I'd bet a nickel it isn't you. I know it isn't me. Mostly, it comes in the form of a corportate/business tax.

I could do the math to prove you don't. $40k isn't that much money. I make $40k and do not freeload any. Perhaps $40k should be the threshold where one could just take off for the rest of the year. The rich class pays a higher percentage of income than the lower class. Do you know what a progressive tax structure is? Are you familiar with effective tax rates?

(Although the super rich can afford good accountants to get them out of some taxes, when I retire, I will pay no income tax of any kind)

Again, I pay my taxes and provide for myself.

How do you figure?? Explain it. How do I take away when I pay my taxes. As I stated earlier I draw 2 months of benefits per year max. I paid over 8 grand in federal income tax alone this year. I fail to see how I'm a drain on the gov't. But whatever.
Thats your problem I see. Stop taking so much and distribute more. And just because you're a student doesn't automatically make you a benefit for society.

Because tax dollars are fungible. They go to more resources than unemployment. If you said you paid $8k in unemployment taxes, then you story would be much more credible.

Again, you have an excellent plan for America. Instead of working hard, you collect a check. I hope that is what you teach your children. Instead of working hard an entire calender year, you tell them to work soft when it is cold out. I am going to tell the Mexicans building a house next to mine your story. That way they won't wake me up at 6am hammering away...they will sit at home and collect a check.

Unemployment was not designed for seasonal employees. I find it sad that you abuse it as such.
