so i made my first box! (pics)

not sure how to fix it but you sure did mess it up you should of made sure it was all straight before you glued you can see clear as day that is not straight at all

also, your port is wrong, which is why you came up with an extra inch (3/4 to be exact).............your port should have butted up against the face board. Your face board has no place to sit in now

they got lots of hataz in here its a purdy box.. but u fukin up that port is going to make it sound like as$ u realised u increased the tuning significantly right? what was it tuned prior? I'd estimate an increase of about 12hz

i really really don't think that 3/4" would change the tuning by 12hz. I would finish the box still if i were you. If anything the tuning will be lower if the port is longer iirc, I myself like lower tuning anyways.

just cut the port opening out from the last piece. also since you only have two clamps, just use more screws.

x2. I just threw that design into winisd and the difference from 3.5" wide port to 4.25" wide is only about 3hz; 36hz to 39hz. This isn't dead-on to what you have, but it's accurate enough to give you an idea.

since the port is wider now the tuning frequency is going to raise a bit. you can always add another baffle against that baffle, making the port .75" narrower, like it was planed from the get go. the port will displace more volume then the original plan called for, so you would have to do the math to calculate the new net volume and figure the new tuning freq of the enclosure. or you can just make the port longer to bring the tuning freq closer to the target tuning.

ya but if he does that the tuning will drop. I would just finish the box as is. see if you like the sound. and if not blow the box up and start over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

its all trial and error.
