So I Kracked open some Krystal RCA Kable

you could just run a jumper to the 'shield(s)' to the negative side of the RCA. that will make the sheild functional, or you can solder a wire to the shield(s) and ground it to your amp or distro block. that would make it functional as well.

easy fix, should not have to do that, but it is an easy fix.

im using all monster cable, i didnt spend the extra money on them, a very good friend gave me his setup as a bday present after getting a new car. Alpine mrv-f430, 4ga monster power and ground and 2ch and 4ch monster rca's. never got any whine using the 4ch to run speakers.

i threw both my knukonceptz karma rca's in the trash... probably about 45$ in rca's. Replaced them w/ walmart home stereo ones. They got rid of my whine and stopped throwing my zx350.4 into protect...so i'm happy.

If you are relying on your RCA's shielding to take care of alternator whine in an automotive environment, you have bigger problems.

I ran completely unshielded Walmart RCA's for quite some time and never once had an issue.

thats not the point.. The point is the product is not as they advertise.

I understand that, but there are other things in your car that makes noises too. shielded is still a must in the 12v world IMO.

Bambaclad maan, bite your tongue!
lol.....I'm doing Monster in my new build. Just for the RCAs, my wiring is Kicker and KNU for the speaker wire. Good deals on them on ebay. I got an XLN 401 series for like 17 shipped and 4 sets of 3 foot interconnects for about 13 shipped. Looking to get the 2 channel subwoofer cable for a decent price to complete the wiring part.

I'll just stick to my streetwires zn2.0 cables //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
These I just pulled out of my car. They served me well. No complaints at all. For sale if anyone's interested. I believe they are 17 feet.

^^ a few very well known home audio companies used to use telephone wire for their $20,000 cabinets until people start complaining about the wire, so they switched and sales went up, even though the sound never changed.

Wire is wire.
