That one looks pretty decent. Preloaded w/ XP, dual core processor, more than adequate memory and HDD space for our needs, and DVD±R/RW.

Little more expensive than I was thinking.....but Lenovo seems to be a decent brand from what I've heard?

bullshit, no one loves that shit. I'm seriously thinking about reinstalling xp on my comp.

I love Vista x64. Aside from Fallout 3 locking up after updating it, all my other games run nicely and my system is very stable. Haven't had to format my HDDs or anything due to spy or adware/virus/etc. I dunno if it's people trying to run Vista on shitty rigs or perhaps something else...meh. For playing games, browsing the net, and storing music/pics, Vista works well for me.

Downgrading your OS isn't an issue driver-wise. Doing the opposite is where you can run into trouble.

I hate to tell you this buy windows xp is no longer offered on new computers only netbooks. Get a mac I have dropped mine 3 times and it also has been strapped to the back of a motorcycle for countless miles. Had mine for 3 years great laptop dose every single thing that a windows computer can except get viruses LOL. Yes I even take it to lan parties for some gaming as well.

ill sell you my old one for like $250...IBM thinkpad t42...fingerprint scanner, 30GB HD, ill wipe vista off it and you should have the XP CD...Pentium M 1.25gb of mem i think

I have one of there laptops from 98, its a celeron 400, 256mb ram and a 40gb hd with 8mb ATI Radon graphics.. it was taken care of very well, but its in well over 20 parts now, all the covers on the bottom have broken and fallen off, keys fall off the keyboard, and the DC jack literally broke off and fell out. if that's a good brand I would hate to see what a crap brand is.

I know quality may change but any laptop should last forever if its taken care of.. I still have a Mac laptop from the 80's in perfect condition except a few scratches
