So...am I screwed? Got pulled over twice today...

How about garage the mustang on non op for a year and get your self a piece of pre 90's shit 4 banger that can barely hold 60 mph, insure it just for liability, and drive it for a year? Should solve all your problems! 1: You wont be able to race, 2: No one will even want to challenge you, therefore you wont feel the need to be "competitive", 3: Yeah you wont be able to break the speed limit! YAY!!!!!!!! Almost forgot 4: Insurance will not bend you over a table and **** you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like you should have your license pulled. I've scraped way too many people off the roads who've been killed by stupid antics like what you did. Speeding on an on-ramp is one thing, but street-racing... I wish they'd do more car-crushing like some places in Cali.

Sorry, I'm blunt. Maybe riding a bike or the bus or hoofing it for a year or so will teach you a thing or two. Doesn't sound like you've learned anything yet... I hope you do... and not the hard(est) way.
well here in ohio they are also impounding cars for excessively loud car audio equip but we all still do it.

fact is he made a mistake and hopefully will learn from it. or go to norwalk on wed nights and race on a track legally:)

Not all of us. I'm running about 2500+ RMS and not a single person in my subdivision knows I've even got a system in my car, probably. Volume really only goes up on the open highway. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

As for learning, I hope he does, too. Maybe make a deal with the judge to suspend the tickets from your record for a period of one year, as long as you get another vehicle and garage your Mustang for that time (good idea from above). If your car is important to you, you'll let her sit for a year while you suffer in silence.

Mine sat for 3. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif come on now....we all know that an Echo cant go that fast. and lets say for shits and giggles that it did, theres no way that the cop would let you go.
You'd be surprised at how much torque Toyota's little VVT-i engines can manage.

You'd never expect a Geo Prizm (rebadged Corolla) to be able to peg the speedo (it shows 115) but I'm here to tell you the gospel truth, friend. It will. And the engine in the base Prizm is only 1/10 of a liter larger in displacement than the engine in the Echo but without the benefit of the VVT-i system...

Here is the oldest trick in the world to keep it off of your record...I tried it on a speeding ticket I got in TX....and it is still off my record I got a quote Friday in fact.....Others may want to take note on this it works...or at least for me....If you can mail in a ticket payment...send an extra $10.00 on the ticket....They will send you a refund check back for the overpayment...never cash that check...as long as the check is never cashed it is considered an incomplete transaction and won't get turned in...or go on your record...I found out about that when I was doing research on the ticket I got in TX....

One for doing 75 on an on-ramp to a 50MPH highway. Some remote radar or something, he was parked on the highway, and I slowed to 50 before I got near him, but he still pulled me over. $100 fine and optional court showing
I drove around a bit to vent, as that's how I relax, and some guy pulls up to me at a light in a Camero, and starts talking crap.

Now, I'm competitive at nature, always have been, and it's always gotton the best of me. Light turned green, we took off, I beat him off the line, and just kept pulling away.

I was a good 2 car lengths ahead of him, and then his lane hit traffic. I slow down, and he gets behind me, in my clear lane, and revs his engine.

I take off again, but this time, about a mile later, I see lights.

He takes off to the left, I pull to the right, hoping this lot has a way to pull behind a building...it didn't. I sat there, and prayed to go it was a medical vehicle or fire truck or something (It was a good half mile away).

It wasn't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. He pulls in, and calls two cars in for backup incase I ran.

So I'm sitting there, 3 cop cars around me pulled over for street racing.

He was actually kinda cool about it. The guy from earlier that day was a HUGE dick, saying stuff like "You better hope I NEVER pull you over again, or you'll regret it BIG TIME" and stupid stuff like that.

This guy was younger, understanding. He asked where my "buddy" took off to, told him I don't know him, but he turned off about a 1/4 mile back. We were tlaking, he asked if it was planned, told him it wasn't. He said, and I quote, "Ah, just hot-footing then? I know how that goes, don't know HOW many times I was pulled over for that when I was younger" and he kinda laughed.

Wreckless op and a $120 fine, another optional court showing.

Got a quote from Geico just to see what insurence would be like...$575 a month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Any clue how to go about this?[/QUOTE]

learn how to drive & that wouldnt have happen'd, as for the tickets your are owned. at those speeds versus the posted speeds the magistraight (sp) will laugh at you an say have a nice day. i hope you learned your lesson. nest time think b4 letting the hotheadedness come out. insurance company bill + ticket cost = you doing this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

I drove my sister's Echo once. Was just crusing along, looked at the speedo, and was doing 80...at normal throttle. 110+ shouldn't be a problem for that car. Being light as hell also helps its cause.

My ticket was for 20 over, when I thought it was a 65 zone. I'm lucky I didn't get wreckless op, or ordered to appear in court. The officer was cool and respectful, not some guy on a power trip or some mess. I'm just mailing the money in, and hoping the points and what not are lost in the red tape.
