So...am I screwed? Got pulled over twice today...

A traffic atty doesnt cost that much. They basically just send out a letter to the court and get it done that way. Thats how I take care of my speeding tickets. I have yet to show up for a hearing and mine have been deferred.

Before I figured out about traffic addys, I got two speeding tickets. My insurance is retarted. Its up there with your, if not higher. Start calling up insurance agencies around you. They run quotes through several other companies and give you the best rate. I got mine dropped $400 a month from what Gieco wanted to give me. Also, another tip. Make sure they dont check your credit, unless its outstanding. Then it may help you, but more cases than none, it doesnt. Only hurts your premium

jesus dude, how old are you? I had like 4 cars at a time once a put all but 1 as recreational vehicles. Cost me about $600 a year
Now there is something I may try...I don't usually drive anything but my Tacoma....But I pay full coverage on 3...just liability on the other 4 ....Liability on my Miata and Explorer is pretty high....

You were asking for that second one dumb ***, sorry just had to say it...not just the fact that you raced, because everyone toys around a bit sometimes, but the fact that you did it RIGHT AFTER you got a speeding ticket...

I've had one ticket since I got my license almost three years ago, and I drove like a grandma for a long time, lol...

you need to hire a attorney i recently had a similar situation. Well not really but here is my situation I was driving 112 in my toyota echo in a 70 state tropper pulls me over and has his gun to me like i was some terrist. I was like dud ei m a college student and im late for class cause the college is like 30 miles away. So he saw my back pack and school id but still gave me a ticket i thought i was going to jail but i guess since i was telling the truth about going to school he let me go. Anyways i had to hire me a lawyer had to pay him 150 bucks plus 500 for court fees and 40 for defensive driving online and 12 for driving record. and im on probation for 3 months. all in all its off my record. And for the record attorneys are more well respected then ppl i had a cut throat judge which is why i used a attorney plus the judge used to be a state tropper i heard. lol your best bet is to hire a lawyer it will cost more but he might be able to keep it off your record. More money in short run but less money in long run i would go sell some stuff for money.

$575 a month is just dead wrong. Go to court on the first one and here is what you say:

There was a long line of cars trailing behind a car that was lagging behind another one, increasing my speed to 70 MPH was the only way I could properly merge into the freeway.

It is a basic principle of driving, Gap, Gauge, Go. You find a gap, gauge the speed you need to get to to make it, and go. We even had a state trooper come in during drivers ed telling us that the only time he found it permissable to speed was on an entrance ramp, seeing as you can cause a huge accident by merging improperly.
There wer eno cars around, neither on the on-ramp or the highway

The first one could be challenged, since going faster than the limit is the norm for on ramps. The second? Nope. The race is probably why your rates are gonna get jacked. See what can be done about the first, bite the bullet on the second one.

Oddly enough, I just recently got a ticket. I can't argue the fact I was speeding, so I won't bother going to court in the chances of not having to pay 100, but get court costs to destroy me. My mom also got a ticket, and she's on the same plan as me, our rates are going to murder us.

i know when i had my ***** am geico was the highest quote i got. try a couple other insurance companys for quotes.

you could sell the mustang and get something that holds a little less insurance. im pretty sure i had a couple insurance agents tell me mustangs are higher on insurance than most sports cars.

how old are you? i only held about 2 points most of the time and my insurance didnt drop till i turned 23. my insurance on my civic went from 150 a month to 100, full coverage.

I had full on all 4, but 3 were just recreational vehicles. As in I just drove thoe like 6k or whatever their rate was a year. Just towing vehicles or show cars. Sound like your insurance guy is trying to make bank comission off you. You cant possibly drive 7 or whatever cars all the time all the time ya know hat i mean? Who is your insurance "provider" ? (crooks) I have dealt with ins companys for a long time, being a parts advisor at a dealership for about 9 years, I know their tricks, aholes.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif come on now....we all know that an Echo cant go that fast. and lets say for shits and giggles that it did, theres no way that the cop would let you go.

this ones easy. mail the money in, look on the back and send the extra money in to get on supervision. if you mail them in they will think nothing about it, and in 6 mos they will be dropped, as long as you don't get any more tickets between now and then.

oh yeah, i seen where some places are seizing cars and making you watch them crush them for street racing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

so consider yourself REAL lucky...your still alive AND you still have a car

Sounds to me like you should have your license pulled. I've scraped way too many people off the roads who've been killed by stupid antics like what you did. Speeding on an on-ramp is one thing, but street-racing... I wish they'd do more car-crushing like some places in Cali.

Sorry, I'm blunt. Maybe riding a bike or the bus or hoofing it for a year or so will teach you a thing or two. Doesn't sound like you've learned anything yet... I hope you do... and not the hard(est) way.
