smoked an amp a wile back

i put 4 kicker comp vr 10's in my car and put a planet audio BB1250.1

in the car to power them @ 1 ohm mono load.

subs dual 2ohm coils wired all at 4 ohm then paralled the 4 to a 1ohm load.

had 1 batt under hood stock batt and alt.

4 G wire from batt to amp, no caps.

smoked amp in about 40 minutes.

i'm guessing i need another batt in car.

i have 2 more of those amps coming.

but was a lack of power why i smoked that amp so fast?
