smelled something, maybe subs?

i otherb day i was playing some bass track on my system which consists of a hifonics colossus II and 2 15 l7s. when i opened the trunk i could smell something, kind of like a burning smell, but not much. what was it? the subs are still fairly new, could it be glue?

the subs should be able to take 1600 rms each though
