Fuck Meade, but does anyone have any solid info on what the motor is actually designed for? Is the purpose of the motor to cut down on distortion or is it to up the BL product for the deebeez? Both maybe? As has been mentioned, I don't see any upgrade for displacement so I don't see this being a stroke monster. It'd be cool if Nick would stop by and school us.

I was comparing it to something more along the lines of a 5200. I would be surprised if this driver had more force than that one. Not saying it isn't possible but we don't know at this point. At least I don't.

This basket does allow for more potential stroke but it seemingly has the same surround that is used on many 18" beasts so it would be the limiting factor for Xmech. It would seem as though a 5200 would beat it in that regard as well.

I'm thinking this driver was made for lower distortion compared to other high output drivers but that's just a guess. I would be very interested in some comparisons against well established SQL 18 inchers.
