Smallest box you would put a 18" BL in?

I am thinking about getting 1 18" BL in my next setup, but I am trying to conserve as much trunk space as I can. Fi's site says it requires 5-10 cuft for a ported box (Tuned to 30-37) but 5 cufeet seems really small for an 18" What do you guys think?

I think you can use a box anywhere from 5-10 cubes like Fi says. Why the hell would we tell you different?

It just seems like 5cuft would be starving the sub and it wouldn't play at its full potential.

It'd obviously produce in that box, But imo the bigger the better, mines in a 7ft^3 box and i like it

Look around and see what other people have used...My point was that if Fi recommends 5 cubes, it's not too small. May not be the best option, but it is within recommended specs. I agree that is a wide range from 5-10 cubes. If you can fit it, I'd try somewhere in between those. But nothing under 5.

I liked 4.5 with my mj-18.

Irrelevant. 4.5 cubes is what is recommended for the MJ18.

Well thats what I am trying to understand. If it recommends 5 cuft and I put it in 5 cuft box then why would I go with a 15" BL if I have the 18" in the right box size.

yes, it will be starved. how much? no idea. Will it still play loud? yes it will. Will it be at its full potential? doubt it

I'de go a 15 if your worried about space and slap it in 4cu ft or so and tune low with a fat *** port.
