Smaller box = ???

What kind of difference will I see with a smaller sealed box? Right now I have my sub in a 1.5 cuft sealed box, but I was told that for this sub the optimal box size is 1.0 cuft. Any ideas on how this will effect the sound? A smaller sealed box will generally...

a. increase mechanical power handling

b. increase SPL (tends to make a peak in the response)

c. decrease efficiency

d. decrease SQ (tends to not play as flat)

e. increase roll-off (tends to not play as low)

I'd asterix b. and d. those would be comments aimed towards a very small enclosure.

Pretty good performance.I didn't really test it in a larger sealed box.But I honestly doubt you'd hear THAT much of a difference.Although, you might.Depends on how sensitive your ears are.

Is it a 10" or a 12" ? 1.0 is fine for most tens.... kinda small for a 12.

I got a 12 made by TeamPSI as well off a tc9 motor. I was going to put it in a 1.4 cube sealed enclosure.

Everything I see about the TC9 it self and subs that use the same motor they do fairly well in smaller sealed enclosures. Check out Tcsounds site and soundsplinters site.

I have the TS parameters for mine but it probably will not do you any good as they are customs...

Well, in this case maybe I'll build a wood box and see how the sound is before I build the fiberglass box so I only have to make one of the fiberglass ones. Thanks for all of the input guys!!

I think it is the same as the SS RL-p. If it is SS says 1.25 sealed. But if the guy that made it says 1 go for it. A bigger box will most likely help with the low end but will lower the power handling a little.
