small sealed vs. large sealed, spl

i know that, can i not just get the answer to my question. i am not going to use a sealed box but i want to know. i guess you are going to tell me to get a type r next.

lol i forget exactly wut it does wit the spl, but wut i remember is the bigger the sealed box, the lower ur subs can handle with power. so if u dont got the power to run a sub that needs a lot of power, bigger box should work to make up for the power. i could be wrong tho since i forget.

which i generally louder? a small sealed box or larged sealed box?
Small sealed will have greater peak output.

Large sealed will typically have better low frequency output. Unless you go too large, then you can lose low frequency output again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also, if you go to large the subwoofer may act like free air =P.

well.....if you threw enough power to it, it has the potential of beind loud, yes. Usually the smaller of box you go, the less efficient is becomes requireing more power to reach xmax. I believe this is correct, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

A smaller box is less efficenient.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

The sub would act like IB if the box volume far exceeded Vas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
According to the LSDC, 3x Vas to be specific.

Speaking of which, I need to start reading that ****ed thing again......

Smaller sealed box = higher Qts and a peak in upper frequencys. "More Punchy"

Large sealedbox = better low end extension and less of a peak.

So the smaller sealed box will yield more output and take more power.
