Slot -vs- Round Port

Hey, I am getting a box for my new Pioneer TS-W1241C and need to know what type of port is going to produce the best SQ/SPL mix. On ebay right now, there are several boxes that seem to be good deals and I am hoping that some of you could check them out and tell me what you think would be better for the sub. Also, could you please describe the pros/cons of each type of port. Here are the boxes that I've been considering:

Round Port:

Those subs are primarily SQ, so I would go with the sealed.

Yeah, I kind of figured that since they are already SQ subs, I could get away with going ported and still sounding pretty good. I want as much SPL as I can get without completely ruining the music. Also, I'll be giving it about 300 watts (RMS), so how much louder would the sub be if it the box was ported?

One more thing, if I was to go with a sealed box, is a smaller or bigger area better for louder bass?

A bigger sealed box will not necessarily get louder, but it will be deeper, it will hit lower frequencies.

thats a pretty big misconception.....if a sub is intended for quality...that doesn't mean you can go try to get more volume out of it by porting and still expect it to sound good. It means in the proper, sealed, enclosure it is quality. I would go sealed again. Also to answer your original question, slot and round ports have to difference in sound, slots are used when you cannot acheaive enough port area with tubes and keep them short enough to fit inside the box.
