Are you using any kind of baffle/spacer between the speaker and the door frame?? If not, use a 3/4" MDF baffle, and that will probably solve your problems.

already using the 3/4" MDF spacer, the frame hits way before that. I'll probably try the hack job first before trying to buy new mids. Wish me luck guys.

arc audio makes some nice speakers with a 3 1/2" mouting septh. dont know if thats too much but great sound speakers for like $100
