Sky High 120 mil deadener

So I have a major dilemma. My favorite Tool song is Forty six & 2, and if you ever listen to Tool very much, you know that song (like most of there music) has a heavy midbass intro to it. And I feel like my hd-62s are close to, if not, bottoming out on that intro. So it is time to seal and deaden the doors, possibly add an enclosure for the mids.

So has anybody on here worked with the sky high 120 mil deadener? I cant seem to find reviews on this stuff anywhere. Is it just that new? Or do people usually just go with different stuff? Seems like a good price for about the same money per square feet as second skins 80 mil.

Thanks guys

Get stinger roadkill expert pack off amazon. 36ft for like $89-99... It's nice stuff. Or if u call up American bass and talk to bob you can get some American bass deadener that's nice for around that price. Those are my go to places for deadener. Never tried sky high because I ordered wire and it never came so I had to get a refund. Then my buddy ordered speaker wire through sky high and the jack was all loose and u could put the wire through the jacket.

I've heard that stinger was pretty good from a few people now. I bought some GT mat and was dissatisfied with it. Might order that stinger and try it out.

Isn't the Stinger roadkill only 60 mil or something? Half as thick as the sky high stuff? So I would have to buy twice as much Stinger as I would the 120 mil right?

I will look into murder mat and rattle trap too.

That ***** 29hz&Under. I have been getting a lot of stuff from them for this build and haven't had a single issue yet. How thick is the American bass deadener?

nope its 80 mill. Thick as the rest of the expensive 80 mill products out there. For your application, i dont see the need to go with crazy thick stuff. I'd mainly get something to cover your door's gaping hole like actual sheet metal or mass loaded vinyl.

When you got 4 15s or something, then shoot for the sky high.

Depends on what your doing. In my truck I used stinger 80 mil. Made no difference in the sound of my kids until I double layered. In the Rex I used the 120 mil and I'm burping a 155.6 which this car has never been this loud. Ever. Now redoing the box with new subs 12s,instead of 10s. Trying to get a 158 of if it

I thought that 120 might be a little over kill but I figured go big or go home. And the plan was to still put some deadened sheet metal over the holes.

Ask anybody who is into audio and owns a celica, it is insane how bad the doors need deadening. You can't shut them without it sounding like they are slammed and they are so light the resonating is awful. They are an audiophiles nightmare. I am guessing audible difference would be pretty large between 120 and 80 in these doors would be pretty significant right?

If you can afford it, no reason to settle for less.

I have two layers of 80mil in my TC and it sounds like a **** tank shutting its doors. Very solid doors now. Love it.
