Also side note when you say 600-800watts what amplifier was that power coming from and how did you tune it? I doubt it's a bad coil from the sound it's making but I'm trying to figure out if it's user error so it doesn't happen again.

Considering the quality of the footage there can be no assumptions one what it could or could not be to be honest. More info on the setup would help find what may be wrong in the first place assuming it is user error that damaged it. As for noises the coil can make.. you may be surprised at what they can sound like with various types of damage.

Oh I'm aware I never said it WASNT the coil I said I doubt it was the coil, sounds more like a joint or off axis or a dustcap but like you said quality is too low to make an accurate assumption. and yes I've heard blown coils make this sound but it was off axis from coming out of the coil gap.

Could have been over excursion from driving it too hard in too big of a box too.

If Skars really sound like that out of the box then I would reconsider recommending them...

They definitely don't all sound like that but some could possibly have issues I guess.

Now that's more like it... seems like the last video probably blew his too, seems new out of the box they don't sound like that.

Mine has sounded the way it does since I first wired it up. I ordered a b-stock woofer but I talked to Kevin and he said the one I got was actually new.

Then I don't know like I said if I hooked a sub up and it sounded like yours believe it would be sent back heh.

Talked to Kevin, gave him a ton of info. He said he'll do troubleshooting today and I can ship it out tomorrow if we don't find a solution. I shouldn't have waited at all though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
