Skar VVX 12 noise...box leak?

What is the rattle noise? I'm under the impression that it's a box air leak from what I've been told.

The box is very poorly made by me. First box. Made a lot of mistakes.

This is very low power in this clip so that I could just get the noise on camera.

Kinda hard to tell due to the crap camera but that sounded mech but again due to the crappy sound I want say 100%.

Have you tried to free air the sub and listened for mechanical noise? As disturbed said, its hard to tell from the video. The first thing I would do is free air it on low power/volume and see if you get any noise that way.

1st of all, my camera on my phone is really bad, so sry bout that. And I was thinkn bout free airing it so thx for suggestion. Ill pull it out when the sun comes up(if it stops raining..). I don't know how it could be mech since I've nvr had more than 500-600 watts sent to it. We'll see though.

Wouldn't doubt it. I seriously hate the screw holes on the Skar subs. I don't even know how to explain what it is I hate about it, but it's just annoying to me.

Just examined it, looks fine to me.

That is mechanical for sure...time for a recone.

There are a few issues that it could be...

Loose dust cap

Bad spider glue on the former or the landing on the frame

Coil is done

Shifted and is not hitting one side of the gap

If it is user error in anyway it won't be covered under warranty.

I would contact Kevin and see what he says though.

Also side note when you say 600-800watts what amplifier was that power coming from and how did you tune it? I doubt it's a bad coil from the sound it's making but I'm trying to figure out if it's user error so it doesn't happen again.
