doood, lol. too bad i never check the dome. i can fix that **** no problem. my buddy runs the biggest Chevy salvage yard in the n/w, in the butte. it's not quite as bad as it looks, and you could have demanded your rental car right away. they would have it to you that day, and also be thinking about that cost as they schedule the appraiser to show up, which should have been sooner. i've dealt with many ins. co. they may close to total the thing, but it may be better to try and talk with them and get it under total. often, totaling the vehicle is a real loose discretion of the adjuster, and how much coffee they have had. some look close, some throw money at you, and some are too lazy and say, "yah, it's fuq'd" where they are a few grand off. what to do depends on a few factors- how much do you owe? how attached are you to it? how much can you really fix it for? just since this fall, we have dealt with insurance 3 times, on personal vehicles only, and they set the price accordingly to the damaged parts, and the end result is 3x the money for better than factory repairs. just remember, if it gets totaled, it is only worth half as much at best, on paper.
