Single wire HO alt hookup

So I have a mechman alt I used as a secondary in my old setup. New truck and I only need 1. Is it possible to connect and remove the battery light that will come on. Or is it even possible to use as a primary alt?

Truck is an ‘01 gmc 4.3.

What vehicle was the HO on?
