Single Sub or Dual Sub Setup

I have a lot of air space to fill inside my town car trunk. im not into competitions but i'd like some competition output for my daily driver. So, with that in mind would a dual 12"/15" setup be smarter than a single sub setup with the same power appx 3000w?

If im not mistaking, 2 speakers with same power as 1 speaker usually has a 3-6 db loudness increase. This depends on the subs of course, but your also increasing cone area. It would make sense to do two than one if your going for output unless going for 2 would put you in a sealed enclosure, and 1 puts you in a ported. Then ported would likely be louder.
