Hi, I'm looking to add a sub to my car and am having trouble deciding which direction to go. The system is nothing special (Pioneer deh-p400ub in an 03 Grand Am w/ monsoon audio) but I want deeper bass than the stock 6x9's can give me. I listen to all kinds of music from hip hop to classic rock to metal so I'm looking for something that would work well for all types of music, including some double bass stuff. I want something that hits clearly and crisply but isn't too quiet. I also only want to use 1 sub cuz I need to have some room left in my trunk. I was thinking about a 12" kicker solobaric but the more I read about them, I hear that they get sloppy at high volumes and that their reputation is built mostly on hype, not performance. I was wondering what you guys would suggest. I know it limits my options but I'd like to stay under $450 for the sub and amp.
