single or dual coil 12W6v2-d4

Sorry to make my 2nd post something I'm sure has been answered, but the search function hasn't been working for the last hour I've been trying.

Other than wireing flexability, is there an advantage . disadvantage to dual vrs single coil subs?

I'm looking at a JL 12W6v2-d4 with a JL Audio Slash v2 500/1v2 amp.

I the sub with dual 4ohm will give a 2ohm load to the amp. But does the dual coil require more power to begin with? I guess the question is with that amp, would a single 4ohm or dual coil 4ohm give me getter sound quality and level? Not looking for pure db's, just clean base that I can feel when I want to.

Thanks, and sorry for asking something the the 1000000 time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Um, they only come in D4.

You are correct. So if I wanted a single, it would be a different model. Knew I couldn't fool any of you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
