I'm building my own box for my 12" Alpine type R because i am cheap!! The thing is.. its harder than i thought because I'm making a ported box. I had no idea what size/length the port should be.. so i just cut out whatever looks right. Now i found (this site) that tells me i should have a port length of like 35 inches... but mine is 15 inches! The port ares is 2 inches wide by 10 inches tall. I found that I could make the port area 1.25 x 10 by repositioning it and have it tuned to 40 Hertz. Would that sound alright?
