dd 1508 box help

just wondering if anybody has any expierence with them. i jus bought one and got a little 300.1 kicker just for a little sound. should i go by dd specs on the box or wat?

I had an AQ SD8 (very similar to the DD, smaller motor w/lower power handling) and it liked the .8 cube box tuned to ~37 hz.

.8 after all displacements btw.

0.8 would work just fine for one 1508 tuned somewhere in the 37-40 range

I'd go with a slightly bigger box since you're not working with a lot of power...1ft^3 at 36-37hz seems about right.

i built one yesterday. 1.4 cubes @ 38 hz and it gets nasty for an 8" on 300rms

I'm actually running the junkyard special with mine in a 1.0 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 35 Hz that was originally designed for a 10. I keep saying I am going to build the proper enclosure, but this one has been working out great for me:

Edit: It is powered by a 25 to Life Punch 150 that is good for 930 watts RMS @ 4 ohms.

Hey for what its worth you can actually fit a nice box behind the seats in back, I got mine in there a single 10 and it SLAMS, flexes the roof like an inch!
