single 4 ohm subs / wiring help

I have 2 12w3v3's and they are 4 ohm single voice coils each.

I have a ppi a600.2 that i whould like to use on them which is rated at :

150 x 2 @ 4 ohm

300 x 2 @ 2 ohm

600 x 1 @ 4 ohm bridged

How should i wire the subs to match this amp since each sub is rated at 300 rms. Thanks

i think your only way is to just connect em directly up to the 2 channel...correct me if im wrong, but bridging BOTH subs would yield a 2 ohm load to the amp, which may not be stable in bridged mode

No, im going to get the 2 ohm versian and wire each 2 ohm driver to each channel on the 2 channel a600.2 or just wire it in series and get 4 ohm bridged out of the amp which is really the same either way.

If you are set on getting the 2 ohm, go with running them in stereo. There is a difference in output and SQ between running them in 2 ohm stereo and wiring them in series, even though the power going to the pair will be the same.

BUT if you don't already have them exchanged yet, trust me and get the 8 ohm to run in parallel. It will give better results than the 2 ohm regardless of wiring because you know that the subs are getting the same signal because they are run on the same bridged channel and at the same time, you don't have the back EMF problem inherent with running 2 drivers in series.

I dont understand why 8 ohm whould be better then 2 ohm.

I can wire 2 ohm in series or parallel and get more flexiblity.

With 8 ohm i will only be able to run it one way.

Does it really make a differance ? Im so use to my pair of dual 4 ohm subs so this is new to me.

I have a ppi a600.2 that i plan to use

or

I could keep the single 4 ohm subs and use my Rockford Fosgate Power 1000 5 channel and run it at 600 x 2 @ 2 ohm on the subchannel

I Have always wanted to use the ppi a600.2 on a pair of subs and figured this whould be a nice match.

What do you guys think ?
