single 15'' R box doing 152dB's

Mine was also in a much smaller space.
An SUV with that much air to pressurize isn't going to get as loud as easily, IMO.

It certainly is possible given the right circumstances, but I don't think THAT particular setup is capable of it.

But I've been proven wrong before.
Come on now.... I did with a typeR 12 in a station wagon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

and a 12in at that....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

16 gauge wire? I'm running only about 250w rms from my amp and I use 12 gauge wire. Wouldn't 3000 require at least 4 gauge or better?
I mean 16 gauge, are you kidding me, lol. That's a joke right?
just don't talk...k?

you don't use 4 awg for speaker wire.

power wire yes. speaker wire is shorter... and unnecessary to be as big. you don't need 16' of speaker wire.

We are talking speaker wire, 12awg works perfectly and 16awg won't really give you a problem.

in the kick guys, so thats somewhere between 2-5db higher than dash...
congrats on doing a 147 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif at the dash or so
Not always true. I'm a bit over a db louder at the kick that than the dash.

thank you. if someone else prove otherwise, please swap your speaker wires for a 16 gauge and see how much db you are really losing.

your logic is flawed, see below.

yours is aswell.

speaker wire size doesn't depend on power..it depends on current. 8kw @ .125 ohms would be much harder on wire than 8kw @ 2 ohms.

If you running 8kw @ .125 ohms(~250 amps) you would need at least 2 guage speaker wire(i'm not hugely familiar w/ wire requirements for ac so larger may be required).. That is if your only using one positive and one negative run of speaker wire. I'm using that just for the sake of example. W/ 4kw @ .5 would require 4 guage.

The most i've seen anybody use for speaker wire is 8 gauge. That includes db drag where people have 30,000 watts PER sub.

Using 4 gauge is completely unnecessary.
