single 12" type R's or single 12" w7

I have a 12" w7 with no box or snap ring to hold on the cone. I found the ring for like $49.00 and a custom ported box for $150 made with 1" mdf. I can spend 200 and get this sub up and running or I can trade a buddy strait up for a 12" type r in a ported box that is ready to go. I have heard plenty of w7's but never ran one personally, and I have not heard very many type r's. The type r's I did hear were ran with crappy amps so I cannot really judge accurately. I listen to a lot of metal and rap (what a combo huh?) and would like some good sound quality. I know the w7 can hit some deep notes but I am not to sure about the type R. I have a us amps usa-2000 to run the sub so the amp is not much of an issue, please let me know if you guys would spend the extra 200 to run the w7.

Well I want to get loud, I know the w7 can get there but I wanted to know if its that much louder and clear to justify spending the extra 200 bucks.

let me get this straight. you want to trade a 600$ sub for a 100$ sub simply because the cheap one comes in a box?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

To be honest, at this point I was thinking about it, i have spent so much money on the system in my truck ( the w7 will go in my daily driver) that I wanted help justifying spending another 200 bucks.

I know I know, but like I said, I have to spend more money to get it up and running. I guess I will if its that much better, how would the usa-2000 do with a 3 ohm load?
be very careful. you have too much power for either of those subs, which is a good thing if you're careful with the gain.

Id never buy a W7......thats just me personally
If you have to ask this question, more than likely you wont even be able to tell the diff in sound quality

R all the way
I didnt buy the w7, got it in partial trade for 2 15" l7's. I have to ask because if I spend more cash then I wanted the opinions to help me make up my mind.
