Single 12" Sub Advice?

Hey guys, i'm in need of a decent enclosed sub running around $200-300. Was thinking of MTX 12" thunder5500, but not so sure now after reading the forums. I really want good quality bass but also some bump (not too much so that the music is overwhelmed). I would appreciate it if you guys could throw out some options.

Also, what is SQ and SPL?

SQ = sound quality, SPL = Sound pressure Level, SQL = SQ + SPL, I'd go for IDMax, or used XXX, maybe TC-3000 all a little over 300 but worth that extra 50-75$

what do you have to power the single 12"...? does "decent enclosed sub" mean sealed?

well i had some 7500's for my starter system...and i wasn't happy with mtx bc the subs don't like to go low...

dependin on what your workin with check out something like a kicker or DEF. check audioque...great stuff imo for the money

IMO, the AA Arsenal 12 is one of the best bang-for-your-buck SQL drivers out there. If you throw it at least 500 watts then I can't imagine it not meeting your needs. I'm giving mine 600 watts(in the recommended 1.2 cube sealed enclosure) and it hits hard, loud and tight. It goes low but it also has a nice top end if you need it. At $180 plus $19 s&h it's hard to beat for the money.
