its rated [amp] at 500 rms and it pushes that to 6 speakers so it would have a lot of surface area? the 2005 type e model is rated at 250 watts rms @ 4 ohms

so my 2 type E's would have the same output?

Doesn't seem all that special to me, seems like SQ would ****...

For the price, much better can be had. If you want space, I GUESS it'd be an option, but... :-/

bandpass can be ok as long as they arent built so crappily that the enclosure actually rattles.... i dont expect that from a 750 dollar box from alpine no less... and generally smaller coned subs have sharper cleaner sound.... shouldnt lack sq.... i think its good idea...

You heard wrong. Properly designed 4th order bandpass enclosures (such as this Alpine enclosure is) can sound very good, with transient response that's better than ported enclosures.
