Single 12 or 2 10s

I currently have 4 sundown x8s on a bc5500 I’m looking to change things up a bit so I’m looking for either 2 ****** 10s or 1 12 that can take 5500-5800 watts and 3-3.5 cu ft of airspace.

I would do 2 10's but I've been running 10's only for 10 years now so that's my preference.

These would be my first choice to be honest..I have never blown an XFL 10 or 12..and they do get down very well..Tuned to 32-35 htz they sound really good..4.0 @ 32 htz has been my favorite thus far

I agree with audiobahn. I've heard nothing but great things about the xfl's, especially for the price. I had a DC lvl 4 and liked it but didn't love it. I'd get the xfl's and spend the savings on other upgrades.

Everything I’ve seen and read seems like the xfls need more air space than I have to sound good. The dc xl 10s only call for 1 cuft per sub ported so I have room to oversize it a bit to hit the lows.

You have 3 to 3.5 cubes to work with? Is that before sub and port displacement?

I currently have 4 sundown x8s in a ported box I have 2 of the 8s inverted in order to get my 3cuft. Box is almost 4 prior to port and sub displacement.

I have a AA Mayhem 12 for sale.

Just rebuilt with a new 8 layer flat wound coil.

Very solid sub.

I also have a blown hdc3 12 if you're interested in that as well.

Im not a huge DC fan, but a pair of XL 10s would do well in your application

don't dc take small boxes? couldn't he do 12's?

No. The 12s will still want about 1.4-1.7 or so. And the dc's do well with healthy port area. 10s are ideal
