i'd say bump it up to an alpine 147 bt. Reason why is the clarion is not user friendly in the interface. The alpine is basically the same in audio features but much easier to use and live with. Simplicity is the name of this thread anyways.

Not a bad idea either.

The alpine is a really good deal too. Id honestly say go with the Alpine but its entirely up too you.

Crutchfield is out of 147 BT's, but I can get this one, it also has 24 Bit DAC. I'm going with Crutchfield for the head unit since I get a wiring harness and a dash plate for free.

The price is higher, however, it works with my phone, and the free stuff certainly helps. Any objections?

I also dont know the different between a headunit and a digital media receiver.

Looks it over....yea... i think what you posted would work just fine. Its not that crutchfield is out of the other headunit...its that they arent made anymore, The newest model of the 147 bt is 170$.

with the 147 bt, tuning on the phone is pretty simple and easy, very user friendly clean looking head unit with nice sound really diggin it after playing around with it on multiple occasions in car audio shops and big electronic stores, even downloaded the tune it app on my phone for fun testing. After getting a clarion cz702 for my buddy, i dont really like the amp guard feature it has nor its usb music menu usuablity. Sure it has good audiophile options buuut the interface for every day use is unbearable (in my own opinion) compared to my 80 prs and the alpine 147bt interface is a lot simpler then my 80 prs.

i mean if you really want to go all out SQ with a TON of control and a bitchin sounding head unit. Right there. deh-prs80. I just bought from that guy too so no trust issues.
