Simple question about bridging speakers

Hey I just bought a Mustang and the guy before me installed a pretty sweet setup in it, Pioneer deck, Audiobahn components up front, and JL 6x9's in the rear. Now the problem I'm having is that while the front speakers sound bitchin, the rears sound like ****. No bass whatsoever. So I checked the rears out and it looks like they have been bridged for an amp. My question is, if they were bridged would it cause this problem of underpowered rear speakers with no bass? Thanks guys.

I'll bet they are out of phase for one, and for two... Bridging R & L side full range speakers together is stupid if you ask me - Run them each to their own channel in proper phase and I bet it will sound better

Define what you mean by "bridged for an amp".

There are a couple of reasons for not getting bass. There could be bass blockers on the speakers if the PO intended to add a sub stage. Or the HU could have a hipass filter enabled, check the audio settings on the Pioneer. Or the speakers could be wired out of phase.

A good pair of 6X9s on HU power should have plenty of bass.

and yes, I assumed there was an amp if it had been wired for one. No midbass more than likely means one out of phase.
